For the love of chocolate

IMG_20120513_103851I think it is no secret that I love chocolate, that I run on chocolate, and that the world is in serious trouble if it gets between me and my chocolate. So imagine how happy I was when I discovered that I could also bathe in chocolate, and feed my skin chocolate, while being kind to the environment.

I don’t normally endorse products for any reason on my blog, but the Body Thrills team is running this fab competition where I could win enough chocolate to feed my skin for quite some time, and since the products are just so fantastic that I am happy to give some public love.

The Chocolate Pudding shower gel is rich and super chocolatey – and it looks good enough to eat. In fact, the first time I bought it, I read the ingredients and thought it would be good enough to eat, much to the amusement of my family who watched me foam chocolate at the mouth. My skin is very sensitive, and I am unable to use most products I have tried – including most of the handmade product ranges – but Body Thrills is so gentle with my skin, while leaving it happy and healthy and smelling like chocolate for hours afterwards.

The chocolate body butter is a perfect companion, and, while also not edible, makes you smell like you are edible all day long while leaving your skin soft and smooth without the grease.

And of course, both products are filled with lots of good things that are also good for your skin like peppermint and cinnamon, and they won’t pile on the pounds, so you can indulge in some chocolate without feeling the guilt. And best of all, the products are Vegan-friendly.

You can also follow the Body Thrills team on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Darth Vader Toaster | GeekAlerts

I wants one!!!!

Darth Vader Toaster

Star Wars Darth Vader Toaster

When sipping your morning coffee from Darth Vaders helmet, you can now also brand your toast with a silhouette of the Dark Lord of the Sith, using this Star Wars toaster.

This black, ominous kitchen appliance easily leaves the mark of Vader’s helmet in every yummy piece of toast. Slather some Bantha butter on top, or make two pieces for an extra-Sithy BLT. Force power not required to operate toaster.

The Darth Vader Toaster is estimated to arrive in January 2009 and the product can now be pre-ordered for $54.99 from the official Star Wars webshop.

Wish list

I have forced my family to post theirs, so I guess I should do this.

Books are always a safe bet with me, and I have the following books on my wish list:

Been trying to think of games I want. But I decided I would rather have a Wii Fit, which means I need a Wii. Also wouldn’t mind Guitar Hero World Tour.

And, of course, everything tagged with wants here.

DailyTech - MIT Designs Solar Power Producing Windows, Coming Within 3 Years

The new windows will be formed of stacked tinted thin plates of glass which each target a specific wavelength of light, which they gather and emit intensely to cells at their edges.  (Source: Donna Coveney)

A new solar design will soon be able to contribute significantly to powering city buildings
There is much ongoing research into making photovoltaic solar power, common among commercial business and residential installations, more efficient.  While many focus on the cells themselves, MIT researchers are focusing on a different approach by changing the places where cells can be deployed and how light gets to them.

MIT researchers built upon previous research into colored dyes from the 1970s and created special glass panels.  Each panel absorbs a different wavelength of light and carries it to solar cells.  The result: the first potentially viable solar windows.
The new research is reported in the July 11 issue of the journal Science.  In it, the researchers detail how the build up their novel "solar concentrator".  Explains Marc A. Baldo, leader of the work and the Esther and Harold E. Edgerton Career Development Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering, "Light is collected over a large area [like a window] and gathered, or concentrated, at the edges."

Unique and Gorgeous Touch Screen LCD Notebook

Jul 1, 2008 by blankscreen filed in Notebooks

canova 3V12 Designs has crafted a very unique and awesome notebook design — what’s so unique about it? Well instead of using a keyboard, it uses two touchscreen LCD’s! This would make it more closer to having a digital book don’t you think?

The notebook features dual display with touch-sensitive screens, sketch pad, music score, graph paper, an electronic pen and a dedicated hardware for its smooth functioning.

Canova is carved out of stainless steel and carbon fiber and is laser cut for that fantastic cuts and sheen.

According to PC Launch, it is only available in Italy and Australia. :-( But keep your fingers crossed because something as gorgeous as this one will surely get around sooner than you think.

New stuff

There are some exciting new gadgets and goodies to look out for over the
next couple of months, and also possibly some duds.

I am particularly looking forward to getting more information, and seeing
the Origami Project (www.origamiproject.com
) - which will, apparently, be the Microsoft Mobile offering. I am rather
fond of the Microsoft hardware offerings (especially in appearance - look at
the perty perty Xbox), and have heard only good things about the MS Mobile
OS, so we could either have a smash hit, or garbage. According to the
website, we find out more today (02/03/2006 in international date format)

Of course, the new Nokias coming out are also rather exciting, especially a
couple of the the N-series phones (which, I know, is old news, but has yet
to be released here, so it still keeps us in anticipation)

Not too excited am I about the new Apple offerings. I am not particularly
keen on the iPod - it is over-priced and under-featured, in my opinion - and
the thought of an iPod hi-fi is kind of garish. It would be a hi-fi loved by
16 year old Britney Spears fans and young gay men with an inflated sense of
taste every where.

I might sound a little like a snob, but for me a hi-fi has always been a
functional device of high quality and little visibility. The idea that you
would now be able to get an hi-fi in blush pink, baby blue or lime green is
slightly offensive - almost as offensive as the boom-boxes that have been
passed off as hi-fis in recent years.

And, Mac Mini? Seriously, get a real computer that does not insult the
intelligence. Macs are for stupid people. Or is it that they make people
stupid? For some odd reason, there is this elitist air about those who use
Macs. I am not sure if this is because they truly believe that a Mac is more
powerful than any other computer on the planet, or if it is just because
they were so royally ripped off when they bought it, that they force
themselves to believe that the more you pay the better the thing is.
