Apparently I looked terribly stressed today, so my family got some emergency Lego today. It was a fun quick build.

But, to be very honest, I am not stressed right now. I have some frustrations, but life is a happy place right now.

A couple of years ago, I discovered a little piece of software called Opalis, and not long after, Microsoft bought the company and I saw it in action at a tech conference. I fell in love, head over heels. I immediately phoned my boss and asked him to change my job spec to include this little program, somehow. Finally, two years later, this is part of my reality and I am having the time of my life :)
And I am still in love, even though the name has changed to Orchestrator. Because this is more than a crush.

And yes, I do fangirl a little for this product and its gurus.

I've been slack on the reading of late, but recently picked up a copy of The Land of the Painted Caves by Jean M Auel. Somehow, I devoured the previous books in the series and thought that this one would be the same. JM is to dialogue what Tolkien is to scenery. So, I am struggling with this one.
Maybe it is time to give the Hunger Games a bash.

On evil

I may not be a religious person, but I have very well defined ideas of what is right and what is wrong, and while I may not believe in the devil, I do believe evil exists.

People may do bad things, but this doesn't necessarily mean that they are evil. Things happen, and sometimes people do bad things out of necessity.

But, forcing a good person to do bad things, that is evil. And justifying bad things being done using religion or politics, that is evil.

This is one of the reasons I recently changed employers, and one of the reasons I am struggling to find hope for the country I live in.
