A little bit of Dharma

I had a bit of a Dharma moment while shopping today, and bought a bunch of glow-in-the-dark toys, shaped elastics and bubbles. My daughter and I then spent the afternoon blowing bubbles in our back yard.

I used to be like this – a little nutty – a long time ago. I’ve been trying to figure out where the nutty side went, because I realised that, at some point over the past couple of years, I became very, very serious. I became the adult I always promised I wouldn’t, but I think it is because I just had so many people to take care of. It felt good today just buying a couple of whimsical things, well, at a whim. And while it is important to remain professional at work and to take care of people, it is also important to remain a little nutty sometimes, even if just to hold on to your own sanity.

My daughter and I also attended our first Yoga class today, and it was great. It was the best work-out I’ve ever had – with me drenched half-way through the lesson – and I felt absolutely fantastic afterwards. I think this will be a keeper.

Where did you go for yoga? Please let me know. I've always wanted to try it, but my fat ass feels baie embarrased being all zen.

Dion and I blew bubbles at our wedding. :) I loved it.

Yoga is incredibly beneficial. I notice my whole posture and alignment improving after just a couple of days. My favourite exercise, in terms of the experience and philosophy, is Pilates but I have not done any in years. It is hard to follow in class (I found anyway) and hard to remain motivated to follow alone.

And yes V. Fun is good!!!! You know Freud said the sign of a healthy child is one that plays. The same applies to adults!
