In my dreams
silent heart beat
a tug of war
between sleep and wake
In the silence
heart drums every step
each soldier at the ready
to claim me for their side
Aim! Fire!
the battle rages
eyelids flutter
the sun is rising
End bell rings
the battle is over
each side a loser
the Sun has claimed victory.
