We had some puff pastry and frozen berries in the freezer, and adapted a recipe from an old cook book to make this lovely berry tart.

Very tasty and easy to make too.

Ingredients

  • 1 puff pastry crust.
  • 2 cups of mixed berries. I mixed some sour cherries in as well.
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • Berry-flavoured jelly. I used Mulberry.
  • 1 Tin (397ml) condensed milk

Method

Prepare the crust – I learnt this means baking it first for about 25 minutes on 270C.

  1. Cook the berries in 1 cup of boiling water.
  2. Dissolve the jelly in the other cup of boiling water.
  3. Mix in the berries. Allow to cool.
  4. Mix in the condensed milk, blend well.
  5. When it starting to set, pour into the crust and place it in the fridge until set.
