Wow. Only 300 days left in this year.

Today, I finally took the Gautrain, which is the fancy high speed train system that's been built (and still being built) to bring South Africa into this century. It was nice and clean, and quite a pleasure for someone like me who doesn't drive to be able to get around.

Of course, not quite comparable with the ICE trains in Germany, but a damn side better than what we had before.

The picture is of Unisa, always a landmark from my childhood, taken in transit.

Only 14 sleeps until we fly :)

What a charmed childhood you must have had to have UNISA be such a part of it. I love the idea of that, that higher education was so integral to your life. Not that I was in any way less fortunate, I was surrounded by books and culture too.

I love catching the train. Sitting back, relaxing and reading never gets old.
