There really is only one big event that I want to be reminded of right now, because our attending opened so many other avenues. And yes, it is the event I am yet to blog about, despite chronicling our trip to Germany quite meticulously. Wacken. Wacken. Wacken. \m/
Experiencing this song live was an emotional experience, especially as resonated so much with the spirit of our trip, and the very important decisions we worked through, not just at Wacken, but through the rest of the trip. It also started an instant love affair between us and Blind Guardian, who had been mostly unknown to us before Wacken.
Every time I watch this video, I am right back there again. I can smell the air, feel the slightly damn grass under my fingers, remember what freedom felt like. And I know, we will be back.
