We braved the cold this morning and headed off to the beautiful Emmarentia area for the 702 Walk the Talk event.
We did not sign up to walk though. Instead, we spent the day in pretty pink t-shirts, spraying people’s hair pink for donations. All donations went to CANSA, for a mobile mammogram clinic.
Quentin looked so pretty in his pink shirt. Here he is with a very good friend of ours – whose shirt appears to be, funny enough, slightly pinker than Q’s. Wonder why that would be *cough*
This was Sinead’s hair at the end of the day.
I took this picture of the helicopter used for rides, shortly after take-off. The shape of the blades I found particularly interesting.
Maybe next year, we will walk again – although, it was almost more fun being in the stadium and seeing so many people in all shapes and sizes – and, of course, their dogs too.
Sinead was shy initially, but after a while she was running around calling “Help fight breast cancer” and “Get your pink hair here”. Quentin managed to convince a fair number of men that pink is not entirely testosterone-removing, and our donation tin filled up fairly quickly, mostly with notes. Luckily the weather played along, and it was apparent why we all loved Joburg winters so much.
